Having received a letter from Popular Bookstore about the above event, so I went over to Expo after work. It's quite a large exhibition, taking up about 1.5-2 halls. For books, the selection was mainly Chinese, I'll say around 80-90% were Chinese books from Hong Kong, Taiwan, China, Malaysia and not forgetting Singapore. The exhibition halls was divided into a few section, each section displaying books that came from a particular region, excluding one o two sectors that displayed miscellaneous items. I reached the exhibition halls at 8pm and was very glad that the crowd was relatively sparse.
So I strolled along shelves of books , browsing any book that interested me. In particular, I was looking for books on Chinese chess, but I can't find any. Not all the sections were well-organised, and some were organised by publisher, so if you came to a particular booth, it may contain books on a myriad of topics from the same publisher. I don't think many people search for books by publisher. Another thing to take note is that you must make payment for the books you want at the section which you found them. As most of the books are priced in foreign currencies, you may like to do a conversion to Singapore dollars based on the coversion table the organisers placed on nearly every shelf.
I picked up a few introductory books on 论语, 唐诗, 诗经,孟子,道德经. These topics appeal to me in some way but I can't get pass a lot of the more cryptic usage of the Chinese terms, so these books are gonna be a great help! Might be going to pick up a few books on guitar as they seem very cheap, around S$3 (with CD!) if I remember correctly, outside they cost a lot more.
